Handlebar Grips Progrip
They began manufacturing their products in 1960 in Cassano Magnago, in the old factory at via Roma n. 13. With over forty years of experience, they have reached the current position as market leaders thanks to their extensive expertise. However, the owners of Plastiche Cassano, Mr. Francesco Assaghi, founded the original company in 1925. At that time, Plastiche Cassano specialized in producing handlebars made from buffalo horns. Immediately after World War II, the first grips made of plastic, bakelite, and acetate were produced. Back then, the production capacity was about 1,000 pairs of grips per day. Currently, they produce over 200,000 pairs of grips per day. 70% of their products are exported worldwide.
Material of Progrip Handlebar Grips
Progrip offers a wide range of grips, manufactured with different densities, so you will always find the one that best suits your riding style. The main densities of the rubbers used in the production of Progrip grips are:
SH 15, which gives riders a high level of touch sensitivity and a great ability to absorb handlebar vibrations, enhancing comfort during riding.
SH 20 of medium hardness at the ends for superior control.
SH 58, used inside the grips to achieve a strong fixation to the handlebar.
Thanks to the combination of these materials, Progrip offers grips with single, double, and even triple density, with a wide variety of shapes and colors.
Progrip Quality Controls
Quality control of raw materials: The quality of the materials used by Progrip is very high as they comply with European safety standards EN/71 for non-toxic materials. Strict quality controls are carried out on the raw materials, both within the company and in specialized laboratories.
Quality control in production: The production process is carried out with strict standards distributed to all working personnel, from mold making to the shipping department, everything is planned and monitored.
Product quality control: There is a control process during the production phase and a second quality control during packaging, where each produced item is verified. Additionally, for every 100 items manufactured, the design and dimensions are checked using specialized tools.
